PH was an amazing mentor, colleague and friend. It was an honor to work with him for over 5-years and be fortunate to share his knowledge, passion and experience with all things Titanic and the sea. PH was a vital source for our research and understanding of artifacts from the wreck site and I am so grateful for his enthusiasm and willingness to always help. One of my fondest memories of PH was spending a few days with him in Cherbourg and enjoying a personal tour from him on the submarine, Redoubtable. PH recalled many memories of his days in the French Navy serving on the Redoubtable as well as his work in clearing mines off the Normandy coast. PH was a fascinating, kind man and our work will never be the same without his guidance and expertise. Thank you PH. May you find peace in the great blue sea.
