I highly doubt there was a man on planet Earth who knew more about RMS Titanic, its passengers, and its crew than Captain Nargeolet. I had the intense privilege of speaking to him a few times throughout the years, and he was one of the kindest men in the world. The warmth and kindness he radiated was matched only by his seriousness and reverence about his work. Everyone who knew him, even those who only knew him for a few minutes, or who only ever met him through documentaries, is mourning an incredible historian and oceanographer.
